Carly Rae Jepsen is on top of the world with her smash hit Call Me Maybe.

The Canadian cutie, 26, performed at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn., Friday, with The Wanted, before heading out to the U.S. Open for Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day on Saturday, where she hung out with Matthew Morrison.

She’s in hot demand, having performed at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, and during the Pop Tarts "Crazy Good Summer" concert in Chicago last month.

Now that she’s gearing up to release her debut album, Kiss, Sept. 18, and will hit the road next month with Justin Bieber, life is full speed ahead.

“I feel very, very blessed,” she tells me.

But she’s still like many other girls when it comes to her closet.

What would we learn about her from opening the door?

“I think you would see that, first of all, I’m a bloody mess,” she says. “Second of all, you would see that I have a lot of colors. I’ve never been an all-black girl. I like pinks and blues and greens. If you come over to my closet, you’ll be able to find a rainbow of things to wear.”

She continues, “I’m a little bit of a hippie at heart, so I always wear things that are comfortable and flowing. I also love pop music, and I’m attracted to bright colors. A little bit of vintage and a little bit of designer mixed up, I guess.”

She is drawn to the color red.

“Candy apple red is my favorite color. It’s a powerful color to wear. It’s always been that way – I’ve always been really attracted to that color.”

Onstage, she has a different fashion sense than on the street.

“I think the fun thing about stage is that you can kind of be your ultimate version without thinking ‘is this appropriate for the street?’ or ‘is this appropriate for the store?’ You can let loose and go wild with it.”

In the shoe department, she plays up her fun side in concert.

“For stage, I like wearing colorful, flower-patterned sneakers. Something that’s really easy to move and dance in. For nighttime or for an event, I’m all about the nice heel. Something that’s still walkable but definitely very elegant.”
