Red Carpet Confidential: Why Heidi Klum Faces B.O. as a NEW 'America's Got Talent' Judge

When Heidi Klum hits NYC Monday for the America’s Got Talent auditions, the newly-appointed judge carefully chooses her dress.
Turns out, it’s the first of three days she’ll be wearing it!
“Did you know I have to wear the same outfit for three days in a row?” the German-born supermodel, 39, asks me during the event held in NYC’s Rockefeller Center, where she is joined by fellow new judge Mel B, returning favorites Howard Stern and Howie Mandel, plus host Nick Cannon.
“It’s so weird, because I wear this today, I wear this tomorrow and I wear this the next day. I know people do that in the movies—they always have to look the same—but that, for me, is weird.”
The mom of four, who is dating bodyguard Martin Kirsten, learned the hard way that staying fresh simply isn’t possible.
“The first time, when we were in New Orleans, I was wearing a black dress because I thought I’d go safe,” she says. “It was my first day at the gig. Then, we sent it out for dry-cleaning in New Orleans, and I got it back the next day. It was damp, in a plastic bag, so I smell like cheese the whole day.”

She adds, “Howard is like ‘what is that smell?’ I’m like ‘it’s me! It’s the dress! It’s cheese!’ It was awful.”
Heidi learned her lesson.
“The next time, when we were in San Antonio, I was like ‘I’m just not going to do that again,’ so it was just smelling, like, me. Not the cheese.”
She continues, “New York City, I don’t know, the dry cleaner might be a little better.”
Thank goodness they haven't invented smell-o-vision—yet.
Look out for Heidi on America’s Got Talent, which premieres June 4 on NBC.
