Reese Witherspoon to Receive Generation Award at 2011 MTV Movie Awards

Last year's recipient was Sandra Bullock and now this year Reese Witherspoon will receive the Generation Award at Sunday's 2011 MTV Movie Awards!

"Reese Witherspoon is one of the most versatile and accomplished performers of her time," Stephen Friedman, MTV's President, said in a statement to MTV. "Our viewers admire her for taking risks and for the breathtaking range of her roles. She fearlessly moves between dramas and comedies and always leaves everyone guessing what she'll do next. We are thrilled to honor Reese with this year's 'MTV Generation Award.' "

The Oscar-winning actress has won an MTV golden popcorn award before.

Reese won Best Comedic Performance in 2002 for Legally Blonde. She was nominated for Best Female Performance, Best Dressed and Best Line in Legally Blonde, in 2003 she as nominated for Best Female Performance for Sweet Home Alabama in 2003 and nominated for Best Performance in 2006 for Walk the Line.
