Report: The Reason Behind 'Bachelorette' Star Emily Maynard and Jef Holm Split

When details started leaking out about reality show couple Emily Maynard and Jef Holm's split, people were surprised to hear the news especially the Bachelorette herself.
According to Us Weekly, Jef has been "shopping around" the idea of a tell-all to magazines about their break up and Emily had no idea.
"Reporters were calling her asking, 'Will you comment on the story?" a source reveals. "She was blindsided."
Senior editor for Us, Justin Ravitz explained the reason why the relationship ended was because Jef wanted to be in the spotlight more.
"Jef Holm's is just so famed hungry. He wanted to do more publicity things. He wanted to go on Dancing with the Stars, he wanted to go to this restaurant opening instead of spending time with Ricki."
As Okmagazine.com previously reported, Emily is about to give back her engagement ring.
The North Carolina beauty was presented with a 2.5-carat emerald-cut diamond ring surrounded by 87 smaller diamonds when Jef popped the question earlier this year.
But as the rules of the dating reality show go, if the couple do not tie the knot, the engagement ring has to be returned, because it is provided by celebrity jeweler Neil Lane.

"Emily is a little embarrassed that this is the second engagement ring that she is returning," a source told RadarOnline. "It definitely isn't something she is proud of."
The single mom's romance with Bachelor Brad Womack ended last May, and she returned the $50,000 3-carat sparkler when they called it quits.
Neil also has another ring coming his way — because Bachelor Ben Flajnik's engagement to Courtney Robertson also ended this month, and she'll have to hand over her $80,000 ring.
