Report Says Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise Marriage Fell Apart Six Months Before Split

Now that the dust is settling from the Katie Holmes/Tom Cruise divorce, reports are surfacing that the marriage was pretty much in a downward spiral six months before their separation.
The National Enquirer obtained documents to show their marriage was "broken down irretrivably for a period of at least six months immediately preceding." Although their split seemed abrupt in June, when the whole world heard about it, it sounds like the split was a long time in the making. Plus, legal papers from mid-August signed by a State Supreme Court judge in New York outlined a custody agreement for their daughter, Suri.

Tom was reportedly ordered to pay $400,000 every year to cover her "medical, dental, insurance, unreimbursed medical and dental, education, college, extracurricular and camp expenses" until she turns 18. Katie had signed a prenup before their November 2006 wedding ceremony in Italy, but the same report shows they actually tied the knot during a civil ceremony in L.A. the very same month.
