Last night at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC at the Eight Annual Black Ball for Keep a Child Alive, Richie Sambora opened up about rekindling his romance with Denise Richards. Plus, he talked about being a dad to 14 year-old Ava who is now dating! Not only that, at the benefit he gave props to his philanthropic musician, Jon Bon Jovi.

First things first! When asked about the rumor that he's dating Denise again, Richie told OK!, "I'm happy! We're good. That's my comment. That's good. Things are good." He added, "I'm happy and that's the way it goes." Of course, Denise isn't the only leading lady in his life. As for daughter Ava, the single dad told reporters, "We do a lot of things. We go out to dinner a lot. We go out on a lot of daddy-daughter dates which means going out to dinner and seeing a movie. Things like that." While the proud papa mentions his daughter has started dating and "it's all good," he also mentioned the secret to being a good dad is listening. "Trying to be available. Talking," he quipped. "Besides loving my daughter, I like my daughter. I like to hang out with her, we have a lot of laughs. She trusts me in a lot of ways." Lastly, when he's not immersed in fatherhood or enjoying life in general, Richie revealed he's currently in the studio "working on some solo stuff." Plus, his fashion line is up and running and he started to write a new Bon Jovi record with Jon a few days ago. "More of all the good stuff that has been going on," he added. "Knock on wood. Things work out." Although he hasn't been to Jon's new pay-what-you-can restaurant yet, Richie pointed out, "I'm extremely proud of him. It's an amazing thing that he's doing. The world is going a lot of different ways; Jon's always been philanthropic." Reporting by Lorraine Chow
