Ricky Gervais on Hosting Golden Globes Again: "I Think Twice Is Enough"

Well he certainly went out with a bang! After controversy imploded over Ricky Gervais' hard-hitting blows to the Hollywood community while hosting Sunday's Golden Globes, the comedian — who has hosted the award ceremony two year in a row — has decided to take a backseat next year and drink with the audience instead of bulldozing them with his cracks.

Even if he is asked back by HFPA, Ricky doesn't care because he's "not gonna do it again anyway," he shared with TMZ today.

"I think twice is enough," Ricky told TMZ while bearing the blustery weather in NYC.

A paparazzo did remind that his fellow community of comics have his back, provoking a reply: "Well, it's nice to be loved by your peers ... they stick by you."

Ellen DeGeneres posted a hilarious photo of Ricky standing on his hotel balcony, wearing only Ellen brand underwear and famed comic director Judd Apatow took to his Twitter asking followers to share jokes for him to use as the host of the Producers Guild Awards on Saturday.

“If anyone has any jokes that they think are better than Ricky Gervais’s, post here, and I will read the winners and say your name at P.G.A. awards,” he Tweeted.

And sure enough, the quips began to flow with Judd picking a winner.

“@CreepyCreeper: @JuddApatow is the Ricky Gervais of comedy.”. We have a winner. Good night."
