Looks like Rihanna and Taylor Swift are just as popular across the pond.

Today MTV announced its nominations for the 2012 European Music Awards and RiRi topped the pack with six nominations, including one for best song ("We Found Love") and best female performance, where she'll compete against Katy Perry, P!nk, Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj.
Speaking of Swifty, the country crooner came in a close second with five nominations, including best live performance with Lady Gaga, Jay-Z & Kanye West, Green Day and Muse.

Of course, no MTV awards show would be complete with the requisite nominations for Justin Bieber, who's up for three awards, one of which titled "biggest fans" where the pint-sized singer will have to prove he has more viral love than One Direction, Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Katy Perry.
