Rihanna knows how it feels to reach ultimate stardom — and she loves her new lifestyle. In a raw interview with W magazine, RiRi opens up about how she has grown as an artist, her fashion sense, and never wanting to return to her Barbadian lifestyle. “Oh no, I never fantasize about that," she tells W in response to not going back to her old life. "Because if I were back there, I know I’d be fantasizing about all this.”

Rated R is Rihanna's most mature and emotional album to date. The February cover girl tells W that the line “I’m such a f---in’ lady” from her hit single “Wait Your Turn” has become a mantra to her.

Producer Evan Rogers — who discovered Rihanna while visiting Barbados in 2003 and co-executive produced Rated R — said her new album took a little time to get comfortable with.

“I have to admit, it was a bit of a shock the first time I heard all the songs,” Rogers tells W. “When I first met her, she was painfully shy. This album was sort of like hearing your daughter using profanity for the first time. I’m not going to lie and say I didn’t have concerns about how her core audience would react.”

Rihanna's evolving, and at times hard-core style, can also be symbolic of her more mature sound and lyrics. She has become a fashion icon in her own right.

“My stylist Mariel Haenn and I always try to do something sexy but never too girl y— we always try to put a little toughness in there,” she says.

The songstress loves dressing up and getting ready for events.

When asked about the favorite part of her day, Rihanna responds,  “When I’m with my glam team getting my hair and makeup done — we talk so much s—--!”

Wonder if any of the gossip revolves around Rihanna and her new love interest, L.A. Dodger Matt Kemp?

What's next for RiRi? A big movie blockbuster perhaps...

“Just before last year’s incident she was heading into focusing on acting, and that got derailed,” Rogers says. “But that’s what’s next for her — putting in time with an acting coach and getting serious about it. There’s a whole other chapter ahead.”
