Robin Williams Deemed Icon at 2012 Comedy Awards; Melissa McCarthy & Amy Poehler Win Big

Robin Williams was indeed the man of the hour at the 2012 Comedy Central Comedy Awards in NYC as he received the Stand-Up Icon Award on Saturday night, while other great comedic works of the year such as Bridesmaids and Parks and Recreation got their time in the spotlight, as well!

Ace Showbiz reports that the Mrs. Doubtfire actor accepted his award on stage in true comedic fashion calling himself, “one of the luckiest ******* in show business, with the possible exception of Ryan Seacrest.”
Funny woman Melissa McCarthy was awarded Performance by an Actress in Film for her laugh-out-loud work in Bridesmaids, which also won for Comedy Film, Comedy Screenplay and Comedy Director in Film for Paul Feig.
On the TV front, Parks and Recreation took home the honor for Comedy Series and Performance by an Actress in TV for star Amy Poehler, while Ty Burrell won Performance by an Actor in TV for Modern Family.
