In the wake of the explosive photos of the twosome snuggling and kissing, Rupert has released a public apology to his wife, Liberty Ross, and two young children.

"I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family," he said to People in an exclusive statement. "My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together."

"I was off making commercials and she was modeling, so we had quite a free – not sexually free, we weren't swinging or having other relationships … I hope! – but we both lived very independent lives, then we'd meet up. It kept the fire burning."
