Actor Ryan O’Neal and his son Redmond were both arrested this morning in Malibu after police found drugs in Ryan’s home.
Authorities were peforming a routine check on Redmond, who is serving three years probation after pleading guilty to drug possession last June when deputies and probation officers found narcotics in Ryan’s living area and arrested him along with his son, according to Steve Whitmore, a spokesman for the L.A. County Sheriff’s office.
While Whitmore did not not say what kind of drugs were in the home, the O’Neals are still in jail on $10,000 bail and could potentially face felony narcotics possession charges.

Ryan is married to actress Farah Fawcett, the mother of Redmond, and also has other children from previous marriages – Griffin, Tatum and Patrick – two of whom have tangled with the law as well.
In 1986 Griffin, who also has a history of substance abuse, was charged with manslaughter in the death of his friend Gian-Carlo Coppola, who died in a boating accident while Griffin was driving. Griffin and his father also got into an argument in 2007 that led to Ryan’s arrest.
Daughter Tatum struggled with drugs as well and was recently arrested in NYC for allegedly buying crack cocaine.
