Lionsgate is releasing the crime thriller The Lincoln Lawyer on Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD on July 12. The film tells the story of a lawyer Mick Haller (Matthew McConaughey) who works out of the back of his Lincoln town car while representing a high-profile client Louis Roulet (Ryan) in Beverly Hills.
Casting for the film was no easy task and Ryan really had to work hard to earn his role.
"Ryan Phillippe, he had to win this part," producer Gary Lucchesi says in the clip. "There were a number of actors who were very interested in playing the role of Louis Roulet."
"They were really specific in terms of casting this part and really needed to see it," Ryan explains. "A lot of times at this stage in my career I don't tend to read for things, but I really wanted the part. It was something unlike anything else I've ever played before."

But once he got the part, rehearsing came to a halt.
"We first went to the rehearsals and I remember we had a few hours blocked out to go over some stuff and I said, 'You know what. If it's alright with you Ryan, I'd rather not rehearse because in this film we don't know a thing about each other until we meet,' " Matthew recalls. " 'I want to be surprised by what you do and you be surprised by what I do. Let's rehearse on film.' "
The Lincoln Lawyer also stars Marisa Tomei, Josh Lucas, William H. Macy and Bryan Cranston and will also be available for digital download and On Demand this July.
