Ryan Reynolds Talks About Recovery After Being Hit By Drunk Driver

Scary news but The Change-Up star Ryan Reynolds was hit by a drunk driver! That is, when he was a teen, but he still sounds shaken up by the whole experience, especially since Ryan was hit after he consciously decided to drink responsibly and walk home from a bar instead of driving that night!

Ryan told CTV News, “When I was 19 I was drinking, I was at a bar and I had a few drinks and I thought, ‘You know what I’m going to do? I’m going to leave my car here, be responsible.’ I started to walk home and I was hit by a drunk driver.”

As a result of the accident, Ryan was unconscious for several days. Plus, he broke several bones on his left side.

He recalled the hospital stay: “I woke up three days later. And I remember my dad sitting there… (with) a vomit tray. And I guess I had been heaving in my unconscious. And nothing says love like painting someone with three-day-old Gin Rummies. Just soaked the man head to toe in my vomit.”

Thankfully, Ryan physically regained his mojo but mentioned he hasn't fully recovered, ”Since then, I’ve been a rickety, broken mess.”
