Sam Claflin Has Officially Been Cast as Finnick Odair in 'Catching Fire'

Catching Fire's much anticipated cast is slowly coming together.

British actor, Sam Claflin, has officially been cast in the role of Finnick Odair after what seemed like months and months of anticipatory back and forth between a slew of young actors. You probably recognize Sam from Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Snow White and the Huntsman, but this will definitely be the actor's most impressive role to date.

Sam beat out Taylor Kitsch, Robert Pattinson, Garrett Hedlund and Armie Hammer who were all rumored to be up for the role.

In the trilogy, Finnick Odair is the winner of the 65th Hunger Games and is known in the books to be an impressive swimmer with drop dead good looks and a dazzling personality.
Sam will join co-stars Jennifer Lawrence, Chris Hemsworth, Jena Malone and Lynn Cohen who have all been cast as definites in the upcoming flick.
