Director Sam Mendes is furiously denying rumors that his marriage to Kate Winslet was destroyed by a fling with another actress.
Sam's rep says talk that the British filmmaker has been seeing Vicky Cristina Barcelona actress Rebecca Hall is "ridiculous", reports E! Online.

Rebecca, 27, met Sam, 44, in 2006 on the set of Starter for 10, an indie film he produced. They've been seen together more recently in London and New York, where they were reportedly working on productions for his Bridge Project theater company.
What about the relationship rumors? "Utter nonsense," says Sam's rep, Simon Hall (who is no relation to Rebecca). "Untrue and ridiculous."

Sam and Kate, who won a Best Actress Oscar last year (but not for her role in Revolutionary Road, which was directed by her husband), revealed on Monday that they were separating after nearly seven years of marriage.

Kate is currently taking time out, vacationing in Mexico with her kids, Joe, 6, and Mia, 9, and friends.
