Sandra Bullock stopped by the Today show this morning to discuss her new film, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, with Matt Lauer. Even though the film is an emotional story about one family's struggles after 9/11, Sandra kept the interview light and even discussed Christmas shopping for her son, Louis.

Matt joked with Sandra that she is only in her new film for 15 minutes, but Sandra corrected him.

"It's actually 24 minutes throughout the whole film," Sandra said on Today. "Strategically placed moments."

To prepare for her role, Sandra listened to the voicemails that were left behind from people trapped in the towers for their families.

"It's haunting and it's inspiring that the last message, inevitably, was one of hope for the families left behind," Sandra explained.

With the holidays coming up, Matt wanted to leave viewers laughing.

"I was reading that you are going to spoil the pants off of Louis," he said. "We have him in a soundproof booth down in the basement of NBC so he can't hear. What's the most extravagant thing you're going to buy him?"

"I don't know if I've stopped!" Sandra said. "I'm not going to tell you because he understands everything."

"You bought him a plane, didn't you?" Matt asked.

"I kinda did," Sandra joked. "I bought him a G-5. Maybe he'll let Mommy use it!"
