Sandra Red Carpet Watch: Actress to Accept "MTV Generation Award"

MTV announced today that Sandra Bullock will be the recipient of the MTV Generation Award at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards on June 6.
Entertainment Tonight has also confirmed that the Oscar-winning actress will be present at the award show, marking her first public appearance since the news of her soon-to-be ex husband's, Jesse James, infidelity hit the mainstream media.
"Sandra is one of those rare individuals who is adored by our audience as both an actress and a role model," Stephen Friedman, General Manager of MTV, said in a statement. "Recognizing her remarkable talent, amazing range of films and her visceral connection to our audience around the globe, we are honored to present her with our MTV Generation Award."

Sandra will be the first female recipient to be honored with the Generation Award, the MTV Movie Awards highest honor, "acknowledging an actor who has engaged the MTV audience throughout their career."
Past recipients include Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Mike Myers, Tom Cruise and Jim Carrey.
According to the statement released by MTV Sandra "has made legions of moviegoers both laugh and cry through heartfelt and wide-ranging roles that continue to break the mold and box-office records."

"Since her breakout role in the 1994 hit action film Speed, Bullock has captivated audiences by starring in blockbuster motion pictures that include While You Were Sleeping, A Time To Kill, Crash, Miss Congeniality, The Proposal and The Blind Side."
As previously announced, movie megastars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, the cast of the new comedy The Grown Ups including Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade and Rob Schneider are just few of the A-listers who will be presenting golden popcorn statues.
Christina Aguilera will return to the Movie Awards stage for a highly-anticipated performance from her new album Bionic (hitting stores early June) and Katy Perry will perform her hit summer anthem "California Gurls," the first single from her forthcoming album Teenage Dream (available August 24).

The 2010 MTV Movie Awards will be hosted by Aziz Ansari from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, Calif. on Sunday, June 6 at 9 p.m.
