It's estimated that the Sex and the City 2 pulled in $14.2 million in theaters on Thursday alone!

SATC2 is well on it's way to meet and even possibly succeed expectations, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The long weekend is only helping the numbers!

"Exceeding all expectations is the best way to open any film," Dan Fellman of Warner's domestic distribution said. "Having $14.2 million in the bank at the start of a long holiday weekend is even better."

The Friday of Memorial Day weekend in 2008 brought in $26.8 million for the first film on it's first day.
