Scotty McCreery wowed the judges last night with his soulful country tone, and it's clear that Jennifer Lopez has a bit of a crush on the 17-year-old North Carolina native. After his second performance of "Are You Going to Kiss Me or Not," Scotty was dubbed "winner" of round 2 by J.Lo and Randy Jackson. J. Lo also made a special request.
Scotty pulled out his guitar for the song choice selected by head Idol mentor Jimmy Iovine.
"You sang it real beautiful," Steven Tyler praised. "That was great."
"Jimmy picked a good song for you. It was perfect. It was right in your range," Randy shared. "You are approaching that Garth Brooks level."
J. Lo loved the way Scotty held his guitar in tight.
"You feel so comfortable in your skin. It was so good," she said. "But can you shave your head for the finale like you had it the first time?"
Jennifer was referring to the shaved head Scotty sported during his Idol audition when he famously sang "Your Man" ("Baby Lock Them Doors") by Josh Turner, captivating her from the start.
Randy quipped that Jen was crushing hard, and she answered, "I'm a married woman."
Another special moment for Scotty was after he received rave reviews for tackling the judges' choice — Kenny Rogers' "She Believes in Me."
