In Sean's special interview on Today, the singer is filmed meeting and thanking his rescuer and explaining just how serious his Jet Ski accident injuries were.
After eleven days Sean seemed to be getting better when he felt a pain in his chest. A team of surgeons had to perform emergency open-heart surgery.
"Your doctor, apparently, said when it comes to that kind of tear to the aorta and all of that trauma to the heart, 90% of people don't make it," Natalie Morales told Sean.
"I had a lot of pain," said Sean. "But for the most part, when we went to go visit my surgeon he told me, 'Yo, you had a guardian angel that day.' "
