NEWS'Shrek' Crushes 'Sex and the City' at Box Office

The bad reviews may have gotten the best of Sex and the City 2. Not only did Shrek Forever After crush SATC2, but Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time may have too!

Shrek finished Memorial Day weekend with $55.7 million, even though it opened 11 days ago, compared to SATC2's estimated $37.1 million, Moviefone reports.

And Sex and the City 2 may have to surrender to Prince of Persia as well.
The Friday to Sunday totals had SATC2 with $32.1 million and Prince of Persia with $30.2 million. However, the four day estimates give Prince of Persia $37.8 million and SATC2 $37.1 million.

The crown won't be awarded until final numbers are released, but nevertheless expectations for the Sex and the City 2 ladies were set at $75 million — quite the disappointment.
