The scandal surrounding the shocking news that Simon Cowell has fathered a baby with his best friend's wife continues to grow.

As previously reported, Simon, 53, and New York socialite Lauren Silverman, 36, are expecting a child together, and she is reportedly about 10 weeks along. Tongues have been wagging in certain circles over the secret since Lauren is still married to Simon’s pal, real estate guru Andrew Silverman.

“Lauren and Andrew have been unhappy in their marriage for some time, and their divorce has been in the works for a while,” a source revealed to US Weekly, who were first to report  the scoop . “As their marriage deteriorated, she and Simon became close.”

But, according to new divorce papers filed by Andrew Silverman, it seems that may not be the case!


According to the New York Post,  Andrew and Lauren "weren't estranged" when her relationship began with Cowell and Silverman cited adultery as the cause for divorce—naming Cowell as a co-respondent in the papers!

"It is an unbelievable story of betrayal. It is a sad story and a tragic story," Andrew's brother, Alexander Silverman, told the Post.
