Simon Cowell Spends Big Bucks on Hotel Rooms for 'X Factor' Contestants

Thanks to Simon Cowell, The X Factor contestants can live it up while they audition on the show.

Get this -- the X Factor creator upgraded all of the 160 contestants from a decent hotel room in Miami to the swanky and posh Mondrian in South Beach. Apparently he opened his wallet to the tune of $500,000!

A rep confirmed the news to Gossip Cop. Plus, he's going to foot the bill for their meals while they audition.  It sounds like he wants The X Factor contestants to enjoy the good life until they get down to 32 contestants.

Earlier in the week, according to the Daily Mail, he told reporters what viewers can expect. "Demi is a brat. But there's something likeable about her. Britney's quite mean, as you'll discover. I was fascinated with her as a person, as a pop star, and there's something intriguing about her. And she's a really good judge."
