Has a purely factual headline ever been so funny? Apparently, yes, someone has been stealing life-size cardboard cutouts of Baywatch and Dancing With the Stars fave David Hasselhoff from Cumberland Farms convenience stores. The Hoff replicas are there to encourage customers to buy iced-coffee.

Cumberland brand strategy specialist Kate Ngo says only about 20 cutouts remain for the roughly 570 stores in New England and Florida, which makes us think this is a team effort. She asks those who have a Hoff cutout in their possession to keep it safe, and to please not steal any more Hoffs.

“Although we are flattered our customers have become attached to our iced coffee ads, we do not encourage theft,” the company said in a statement. “The Hoff is there for all to enjoy.”

He didn't try to discourage his fans, but did ask that they "enjoy a cup of coffee" mid-robbery. Oh, The Hoff. Always on the job.

“It’s cool and it kind of humbles me that people are still following David Hasselhoff after all these years,” he said.
