Three-and-a-half years after a fairy-tale wedding, Star Jones quietly filed for divorce from her husband, Al Reynolds, on March 26 in the New York Supreme Court.

"I have committed myself to handling this situation with dignity and grace and look forward to emerging from this period as a stronger and wiser woman," Star said in a statement released to Entertainment Tonight.

Meanwhile, Howard Bragman, a spokesman for Al, 39, said, "We're taking the high road. We're not playing the divorce out in the press."

Star, 46, is celebrating single life by froliking with girlfriends in Costa Rica and Jamaica, hanging out with Miami Heat basketball star Dwayne Wade and dining at trendy NYC restaurants. Denise Rich, who hosted Star's wedding rehearsal dinner in 2004, tells OK!, "Star has entered a new phase of her life. She's happy, and I'm proud of her for taking this step."

One such NYC date saw Star and a pal at Da Silvano on April 18. A diner tells OK!, "She was wearing loads of diamonds and ws laughing- she looked great. The owner asked how she was, and Star replied, 'Marvelous, darling, just fabulous!'"
