The Stars of 'Princesses: Long Island' Reveal Why They Joined The Show

As a Long Island girl who couldn't wait to escape the bubble of the 'burbs, I'm super intrigued by Bravo's upcoming reality series Princesses: Long Island, premiering June 2, which follows six LI ladies who have moved back home with their parents. Now in their late 20s, they're happily re-nestled with mom and dad as they look for love and try to find their own paths. Are you getting a Real Housewives for the boomerang generation vibe? I am!
Series stars Joey Lauren, Chanel Omari and Ashlee White attended NBC Universal's Summer Press Day in Los Angeles to chat about the show and the big question on everyone's mind was—what's in it for them?
"One reason I'm on...I really wanted to be on this show because I'm looking for love, and I'm looking for someone that is a needle in a haystack," says Ashlee. "I'm not finding him. So I can't wait to see what this brings...I really think it's going to bring me Mr. Perfect, also with a career. I'm an aspiring event planner, and I cannot wait to take it to the next level."

Chanel, who is the social connector of the show, is excited to use this opportunity to promote her lifestyle blog.
"I think, for all of us, we are all career-driven, and it's definitely a platform for us to put ourselves out there personally but as well as financially and have what we really want," she says. "For instance, I'm a freelance writer. I've always wanted to do a website about love and dating and lifestyle and fashion, and it's helped me, by moving home, to do that. And this show and all of these women have embraced me and encouraged me to do that. Every day is a learning experience, and we are still learning."

Joey, the only South Shore Long Islander in the bunch, has been working hard to establish her own business—Kissamint.
"I actually have been an entrepreneur for the last two years, trying to launch a lip gloss and mint line called Kissamint, and this, to me, was a way of, kind of exposing myself in the sense of, look, I'm a struggling entrepreneur, and I moved home for certain reasons," says Joey. "And you'll have to see that, on TV, unfold. But, for me, I really felt like I needed—I wish I could have seen somebody else go through it, and so I wanted to put myself out there for other people who want to do something and maybe have to take a step back sometimes to take two forward."
