Long Island’s finest musicians came together to celebrate all their success throughout the years.

Taking Band Sunday from Long Beach, New York returned home to be inducted into the Long Island Hall of Fame 20 years after first starting their band. “It’s something else! It’s very unexpected, very cool,” the band members, John Nolan, Adam Lazzara, Mark O’Connell and Shaun Cooper told OKMagazine.com exclusively about being inducted into the Long Island Music Hall Of Fame. “It’s an honor!”

The band is currently celebrating 20 years together and touring around the world. “We feel very lucky because not a lot of bands get to be a band for 20 years,” they added. The band will be playing “the first three albums” on the tour so fans will be getting a variety of their hit songs.

When it comes to any advice for aspiring musicians, “Don’t prank your band mates…leave each alone!” The members credited giving each other space and not playing any tricks while on the road as the key to their on-going success.

Billy Joel attended the event to induct his guitarist Tommy Byrnes into the Hall Of Fame as well as another fellow Long Island native, musician Elliot Murphy. When it comes to his speech to induct his band member the “Piano Man” singer told OKMagazine.com exclusively, “We’ll see how it goes! Long Island tradition is not be too complimentary to your friends, you got to insult them in a really good way! But they are expecting it so it’s okay…that’s how we are!”
