Taylor Swift On Exes in Songs: They've Had Fair Warning
Oct. 28 2010, Published 9:14 a.m. ET
Taylor Swift has become quite the city girl! She’s been busy promoting her brand new album, Speak Now on the East Coast. She stopped by Late Show With David Letterman to talk about the album and even sang a few of her new songs on the Today show. She ended her NYC stay by performing for over 500 excited fans last night at JetBlue’s “Live From T5” concert series at JFK Airport.
Taylor told the crowd that Speak Now was “written about the last two years” of her life. In those last two years, Taylor’s been linked to a few famous guys. The “Fearless” singer has never been shy about calling out boys in her music. “This is album No. 3 so I figure these people have had fair warning,” Taylor has said.

Although she didn’t perform “Dear John,” a track with lyrics that insinuate a less than favorable dating experience with musician, John Mayer, she did sing “Back to December,” an apologetic tune that could easily be about the time she dated Twilight star, Taylor Lautner. Taylor sang, “I miss your tan skin, your sweet smile.” She explained that, “You can learn lessons the right way. You can learn lessons the hard way, but sometimes you learn lessons too late.”

Hopefully, Taylor has learned her lesson by now or we might be hearing a Jake Gyllenhaal-inspired track in the future. While Taylor was in NYC, she made time to hang out with the hunky actor. Between promoting and performing, the unexpected duo enjoyed walks through Brooklyn and apple picking at Fishkill Farms in Hopewell Junction, N.Y.

With a new album and a new romance, Taylor has a lot to handle. But if one thing’s for certain, we will hear all about it on the next album.
