No one puts Taylor Swift in the corner. Country's new golden girl is seeking justice, after a sting operation in Idaho revealed a small sports bar was ripping her off, TMZ reports. Taylor is now involved in a copyright infringement lawsuit lead by Broadcast Music, Inc.
BMI collects license fees on behalf of people in the music industry and distributes them as royalties to those members whose work is performed.
According to the lawyer connected to the case, BMI enlisted someone to investigate the situation at The Sports Cellar bar sometime last year, and the investigator noticed the bar was playing Taylor's songs, which they had not paid for the rights to, TMZ reports.
Taylor's stolen music was also used for Karaoke at the bar!
The songstress is suing for unspecified damages — but compared to the millions she is making right now, the Idaho income is very minimal.
