She’s made no secret of her commitment to Kyle King, but friends say Maci Bookout isn’t ready for a lavish church wedding like fellow Teen Mom Leah Messer. In fact, Maci, 19, and Kyle, 23, are more likely to opt for the famed Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas than a traditional ceremony. “Maci has considered the idea of just eloping, just because it’d be easy,” a friend of the couple tells OK! in this week's issue. “She can go to Las Vegas or somewhere and just have it done quickly.”
Instead of worrying about upsetting her parents over her plans, Maci is more concerned that turning her wedding to Kyle into a major event would upset her ex, Ryan Edwards. “She doesn’t want to hurt Ryan’s feelings or make things difficult or awkward,” reasons the friend, who says that after a tumultuous year, Maci and Ryan have finally become friendly enough to maintain “a good system” for co-parenting their son Bentley, 2.
And as Maci and Kyle build their life together in Nashville, Tenn., they both hope to avoid the cost of a big celebration.
“Kyle’s conscious of not having a huge, lavish wedding when everyone around them is stuck in the recession, looking for jobs,” explains the pal. “Maci thinks it is in bad taste to just go out there and spend a lot of money on dresses or parties when others are still trying to make ends meet.”

Back in April, Maci Tweeted her plan to go out on a summer road trip with Kyle and Bentley, which could provide the perfect opportunity for a quickie “I do.” “Kyle has been really supportive of whatever she wants to do,” says the pal. But don’t be surprised if Maci makes no announcements ahead of the low-key nuptials. “One of the reasons she wants to elope or do a small wedding is to keep as much to herself as possible,” shares the friend.
