Teen Mom's Catelynn Lowell may have given her daughter up for adoption, but that doesn't mean she's without maternal instincts...especially when it comes to her own family.

Catelynn opened up to a magazine about her desire to adopt her 6-year-old brother, Nick, out of fear the little boy will suffer the same tumultuous childhood she did with their mother, April.
"I pretty much saw my mother drunk everyday and had to grow up really fast," she says, adding that her mother's husband, Butch, is in prison for beating her and worries her mom will "derail" again.
While April claims she's off booze and drugs, it was only two months ago she reportedly sold a fake story about her daughter being pregnant again to make some quick cash from a tabloid.
"I know my mom loves her children," she said. "But when it comes to addict parents, sometimes they love their drug or alcohol more than they love their children."

Catelynn, who is now focusing on college and hopes to get a degree in social work so she can help other pregnant teens, assures the magazine that her fiancé, Tyler Baltierra, is on board for the possible adoption.
"I'm not going to let my little brother get harmed," she said. "He would come live with us. If I noticed him being neglected, I would step in — no question."
