While celebrities and non-celebrities alike spent this past weekend relaxing for the holiday weekend, huge Hollywood casting news popped up on Twitter: The leads in Fifty Shades of Grey have finally been cast!
EL James, the author of the best-selling Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy, tweeted mid-day on Labor Day: "I am delighted to let you know that the lovely Dakota Johnson has agreed to be our Anastasia in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey." Dakota has been one of the many actresses believed to be in the running for the sweet and innocent Anastasia.
But that's not all! An hour after posting the exciting news, EL teased "So... Christian..." She then announced the casting of the darkly seductive Christian Grey: "The gorgeous and talented Charlie Hunnam will be Christian Grey in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey."
Dakota is best known for her starring role on the sitcom Ben & Kate, while Charlie is a British actor who stars on Sons of Anarchy.
