The future King of England has arrived!
and welcomed a son today, Buckingham Palace confirmed via a message board placed on an easel outside the gates and via... Twitter!
"Her Royal Highness The was safely delivered of a son at 4.24pm" the tweet reads.
The name of the baby, who weighed in at 8 pounds and six ounces, has yet to be announced by the palace—Kate gave birth naturally after approximately ten hours of labor.
Unlike with other celebrities, it's not expected that we'll be seeing the royal baby any time soon. Pics of Prince William emerged when he was about six months old, and he didn't make his first official appearance at a royal event until age 8.
So ends the first (but hopefully not last!) pregnancy of the internationally beloved couple, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Kate Middleton consistently impressed with her tasteful and sweet maternity style, which made her every appearance a special fashion occasion. We can't wait to see her back out and about soon.
