In a statement Wednesday made on his Web site, Tiger Woods said he has let his family down and regrets "those transgressions with all of my heart." The championship golfer, now embroiled in a scandal involving at least two allegations of extramarital affairs, said he has not been "true to my values and the behavior my family deserves."
He also made a "profound apology" to his supporters.
These comments come after the police inquiry into his car crash came to a close Tuesday.
In that incident, Tiger was charged with careless driving and fined $164 and received four points on his driving record.
