Tim is taking on the role of Mike in the new comedy about a family man who is surrounded by women. He has three strong-minded daughters and his wife Vanessa (Nancy Travis) has gone back to work leaving him as a stay-at-home dad!
But Tim is excited to for the complete change from his Home Improvement days.
"What I really wanted was to flip flop Home Improvement and investigate what it would be like to be around four women who are intelligent and strong," he explained at the 2011 TCAs (via USA Today). "And I thought it would be kind of fun, literally, to flip flop H.I. It isn't rocket science what I'm doing."

The 58-year-old actor does admit though that TV networks operate a lot differently than they did in his H.I. days.
"It's a tighter, leaner ship at ABC. As you know, the landscape has changed," he said. "I don't want to say cheaper, but I just did. There's less revenue. You just have to do more with less. Sometimes, leaner is better. "
"In this case it's not."
