It's only going to get uglier! In a statement regarding his client Tom Cruise's divorce, attorney Bert Fields accuses Katie Holmes and her legal team of using the media to their advantage.

"We are letting the other side play the media until they wear everyone out and then we'll have something to say," Fields told the BBC. "It's not Tom's style to do this publicly. He is really sad about what's happening."

Fields has been part of the Rock of Ages star's legal team for decades, but is not handling the divorce — that job went to Dennis Wasser, who also handled Tom's split from Nicole Kidman in 2001.

"Tactically we can't say where Tom will file a divorce case and if he'll be seeking joint custody of Suri," Fields added. It has been widely speculated that Tom will answer Katie's NYC divorce filing with his own filing in Los Angeles. Because there was a prenup, it is also expected that custody of Suri, 6, not money, will be the main point of contention in the case. Katie asked for sole legal and primary physical custody of their daughter when she filed.

Katie is being represented by two east coast law firms, and was spotted entering one of their buildings on Friday, just before Fields made his statement, according to Radar Online.
