I’m writing this Tuesday night on a plane from NYC to LA. I’ll be in LA for one day -in which I’ll unpack from a week in New York and the Hamptons, spend eight hours in the office, try to get out in the sunshine for a run, go to dinner with a publicist/friend, attend an Epic Records event for White Tie Affair at the Hotel Roosevelt – and then go home and repack to go to Chicago the next morning for Lollapalooza. I’m looking forward to Lollapalooza because I’ve never been to Chicago, I like music, I’m staying at the Hard Rock Hotel so am sure to have a fab room, I’m going to rock out to music by both Samantha and Mark Ronson at the Hard Rock Lounge presented by Metromix.com and catch Katy Perry and DJ Mom Jeans (aka my buddy Danny Masterson) at the MOTOROKR Lounge at the Underground after a dinner at Billy Dec’s RockIt Bar & Grill. I may even catch a glimpse of a preggers Ashlee Simpson if she’s on the road with hubby Pete Wentz. One can only hope 😉

From Chicago my calendar currently has me going back to Nashville. I had an amazing time in Nashville, when I was there two weeks ago and found an entirely new appreciation for Country music outside of my love for Nashville Star. But, I think being homesick may win out, I feel like a musician on tour! My life has become a series of planes, trains and automobiles and I’m looking forward to spending a few weeks at home in LA. Well, I’ll try to make it three weeks, then back on the road for a music festival in San Francisco, possibly/maybe the Democratic convention in Denver, a last week of summer in New York and early September at the Toronto Film Festival. The life of Simplyjen is so rarely simple, but it’s definitely never boring and most often fun. I hope you find it at least mildly entertaining. 😉 xo
