While tearful family and friends gathered to mourn the loss of Grammy-winning singer Amy Winehouse at her London funeral on July 26, her ex-husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, was cooling his heels in a jail cell, “grieving” for his ex in his own unique way.
“He’s cynically thinking of how he can cash in on Amy’s death,” an insider tells Star. Topping the list? A tell-all. “He has a diary of his life with her ready-written and is now busy including the details of their final phone calls in her last days,” says the source.
He’s already approached a published with the idea and has been told he can easily rake in several million dollars for the book deal, the insider adds. “He was always determined to profit from his relationship with Amy, and that is why he married her. Now that she’s gone, he has nothing to lose by publishing it.”
This wouldn’t be the first time that Blake, whose drug-addled two-year marriage to Amy ended in July 2009, has pocketed money at the singer’s expense. “Blake never has pretended that he loved her – he could take or leave her – but the second the became a celebrity, he was selling stories about her to the U.K. tabloids all the time.”
