TV Recap: Mario Lopez and Isaac Mizrahi

Another week, another round of parties! Your first performance on Broadway is a big deal, so I was surprised to see Dancing With the Stars' alum Mario Lopez out the night before his opening in A Chorus Line this past Tuesday. But since it was to honor Safe Horizon, an organization that aids victims of violence and abuse, it was definitely worth the sacrifice.
“I work with a similar charity back in my hometown,” said Mario as we chatted inside the Calvin Klein flagship store in midtown Manhattan, which hosted the reception. Mario wasn’t in the least bit nervous about his imminent stage debut. “I have yet to do it in front of an audience, with the orchestra or in costume. Other than that, I know my lines and the choreography, so I’m all good,” he laughed.
As for girlfriend Karina Smirnoff, who is currently tearing up the dance floor with her partner, R&B star Mario on Dancing With the Stars (catch a new episode on Monday, April 21 at 8 p.m. on ABC), making the trek from Los Angeles to see the show, Mario admitted, “She’s busy doing her thing and I’m busy doing mine... I’ve got a lot of projects going on, so I’m pretty focused on my work.”
Mario also revealed his favorite piece of Calvin Klein clothing. "It's the underwear!" After seeing him on the cover of his new how-to book, Mario Lopez Knockout Fitness, I think we can all appreciate him lounging around in his cK tighty whities!

If you’ve been missing zany designer Isaac Mizrahi on your TV screen, you can still catch him on his Web site. “It’s www.watchisaac.com, you have to check it out,” he revealed to me during the 11th annual ASPCA Bergh Ball, which was sponsored by Chopard at New York City's famed Plaza Hotel. Isaac admitted why he keeps coming back to support the fundraising effort year after year. “It is the most important thing to me secretly," he confessed. "I raise money for children and for really unfortunate humans, but in the end, what really touches me the most is dogs." Little paws are clapping in unison for your tireless dedication, Isaac.
