TV Weekly Recap: Harlem Heights and Stylista, revisited!
March 6 2009, Published 6:00 a.m. ET
Over the weekend, I hit a swanky birthday soiree for The CW's Stylista contestant William Buckley.
While sipping my blueberry vodka cocktail for my second time inside cushy East Side haunt Rouge Tomate, I ran into former contestant Danielle.
Looking svelte in a rocker tee and black pants, the told me she’s freelancing for a host of fashion and lifestyle magazines. Nice gig!
Fellow former contestant, Kate has taken a slightly different career path. She’s become an entrepreneur.
Kate will launch a line of t-shirts, KATE by Kate Gallagher on March 23, based on her experience with the show.
"I'm a fifth generation Southern California girl, and my L.A. style is not one that isn't loved and shared by many women out there," she declared.
"But on the show, I was objectified and tormented for my style. So I've taken that and blended elements of pop culture, fashion wars and tabloid rumors into a design and brand. I'm a witty writer, and a few of my favorite things are going on shirts now.
Like?
"My breasts are famous," she laughed. "My breasts are very fake, and I love them just like you love your shoes."
Got to give it to the girl. Her black mini-dress showing off her best assets was a brilliant marketing tool!
And no, she has NOT reconciled with Megan.
Being on a reality show can be tough! But it’s a double dose when you’re the show’s narrator.
That’s the spot Harlem Height’s Bridget Bland finds herself in every week on BET’s new docusoap chronicling the fabu lives of twentysomethings living, laboring and loving in historical hot spot, Harlem, N.Y.

“I feel an incredible amount of pressure,” she admitted to me during the series premiere party, thrown by AMBI by Johnson & Johnson inside the famed Apollo Theatre in Harlem.
“These people are my family. I really feel I have to separate myself from my opinion of certain situations and follow what I call Oprah’s lead, to be non-judgmental and to hang back.”
That’s not going to be easy, especially with former friends-turned-frenemies Brooke and Ashlie getting into it this season.
"Our relationship is going to take a very natural road and you're going to get to see how every moment of that relationship evolves," Brooke said.
Take that, Lauren and Heidi! Harlem Heights airs Mondays at 10 p.m. on BET.
Until next week, fellow Fanatics!
