Forget Taylor and Kanye, the real story of Sunday night's Video Music Awards was not only the premiere of the latest New Moon teaser, it was the presence of the film's three stars, Taylor Lautner, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. Would they walk the red carpet? What would they wear? Would there be an all-out vampire vs. werewolf battle on stage? (okay, maybe not that last one).
Turns out that not only did Rob and Kristen not walk the carpet (even though co-star Ashley Greene was doing interviews for MTV), they didn't even sit in the audience during the ceremony.

Taylor actually pulled double-duty, presenting an award early in the evening with Shakira and then reappearing with Robsten to present the long-awaited New Moon tralier:
