Halle took home a nice award for Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture for her work in the yet to be released film Frankie and Alice.
The stunned actress, excited by surprise presenter and musical icon Prince, exclaimed while accepting her statue, “As if this wasn’t amazing enough, but to have it be handed to you by Prince? I have only loved him my whole life so thank you prince for honoring me tonight and thank you to the NAACP because I want to mirror other comments tonight and say that if it were not for the NAACP, a girl like me would have not had wind beneath her wings in a little small town in Ohio and dared to dream what was impossible and what people said a little black girl cant do.”
