Although she was mum on the word of Kelly Cutrone‘s appointment to the America’s Next Top Model judging panel, Tyra Banks did speak to OK! about her book tour for her novel Modelland at Monday’s Metropolitan Opera season opener in NYC.
What’s been the best part of the tour for the supermodel? Meeting the fans who have been inspired by her!
“I don’t do like a typical signing, I’ve been doing symposiums or gatherings. A lot of people are calling it teen Tony Robbins,” she laughs.
“It’s just so touching some girls come into my arms and are crying about their insecurities. There was one girl at Barnes & Noble Union Square who just started crying, she could hardly talk because she said her forehead was big and she feels so insecure about it. But me having a big forehead helps her every single day. But her hair was slicked back in a bun so I was like you’re not that insecure about it!”
Although it was her first time seeing opera live, it must have inspired Tyra as she later Tweeted, “So happy for the translation at last night’s opening performance of Donizetti’s Anna Bolena and SO PROUD to be a woman based on her story!”
