NEWSTYRA'S NEW TV GIG

Jan. 30 2008, Published 7:50 a.m. ET
Taking a play straight out of Oprah’s Build Your Own Media Empire handbook, model mentor/talk show host Tyra Banks is launching a new TV reality series for The CW. Billed as The Devil Wears Prada meets The Assistant, the yet-to-be-named show will follow assistants determined to score a hot editorial position in the fashion industry. Each week, teams of two will create pages for The Book, a mock copy of a leading fashion magazine. The losers’ page winds up in the trash, and one of the teammates is eliminated. Tyra’s new project will most likely be a companion piece for her hit CW series, America’s Next Top Model. Cheer up, guys and gals at Soapnet’s Fashionista Diaries. They do say that imitation is the best form of flattery!
