VERN YIP DISHES ABOUT SEASON 2 OF HGTV DESIGN STAR
July 26 2007, Published 6:00 a.m. ET
At the HGTV Design Star premiere party, held last night at New World Stages in Midtown Manhattan, show judge Vern Yip explained why the second season of competitors had to be ready for even tougher challenges. 'Since they've seen the first season, they knew what to expect,' he told OK!. 'It's a huge prize, to represent the network. We're looking for a great host with great design skills who's creative and can think outside the box.' So, which celebrity's home would the former Trading Spaces designer love to make over? 'It's not going to sound that sexy, but I adore NBC Today anchor Ann Curry,' Vern declared. 'She's just so professional and pulled together. I'd have a great time translating who she is into a smart and sophisticated design.' OK! also spoke with fellow Design Star judge and designer Cynthia Rowley, who filled us in on what she thinks are the must-haves for fall. 'Dark sparkly tights and longer dresses in luxurious materials in colors like eggplant and teal,' she revealed. Now I can't wait for the cooler weather!
