VIDEO: Accused Tucson Shooter Jared Loughner's High School Girlfriend Speaks Out

Not much is known about accused Tucson shooter Jared Lee Loughner, leaving the media to scramble for any new information about the man who is said to have killed six people and injured 13 more on Saturday at a local Safeway. Now Jared's high school girlfriend Kelsey Hawkes is speaking out in a new interview about the mysterious man who officials say opened fire on an innocent crowd.
Hawkes and Loughner dated six years ago, and she tells CBS News he was very different — gentle, sweet and kind, although still very quiet.

She was very careful to comment on his recent behavior, saying she'd heard he'd become more isolated and might have been involved with drugs and alcohol, but hadn't been in contact with him lately.

When she heard the news, she said she was at work. "It was probably one of the more surprising things I've heard in my life."
