
VIDEO: Aziz Ansari to Host 2010 MTV Movie Awards

Parks & Recreation, Comedy Central and Funny People comedian Aziz Ansari has been announced as the 2010 MTV Awards host! "I'm so happy Ronnie from Jersey Shore was unavailable and this exciting opportunity was able to come my way," Aziz said in a statement.

Aziz starred opposite Andy Samberg in a Star Trek spoof at the 2009 MTV Awards and now will be taking on the host role on his own, MTV News reports.
"Our audience fell in love with Aziz on Human Giant. They followed him to the movies, TV and stand-up, and connect with him daily online," MTV general manager, Stephen Friedman said. "Aziz is the perfect host for the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, as he will bring his innovative comedy and distinctive style to the movie industry's most rebellious night on television."

After nominees are announced for the 19th annual Movie Awards, voting for winners starts May 11 and end June 5 on MovieAwards.MTV.com.
