As he wraps up his last week hosting The Tonight Show, Conan O'Brien is pulling out all the stops. The red-hair comedian just negotiated a $45 million exit deal with NBC; however, he is still determined to spend the peacock network's money. Last night's splurge was a ridiculous skit involving the Bugatti Veyron — the most expensive car in the world — dressed as a mouse. And the total cost...$1.5 million.
“For the rest of the week, we’re going to introduce new comedy bits that aren’t so much funny as they are crazy expensive,” Conan said last night before revealing the car to the tune of “Satisfaction” by the Rolling Stones.
"Is this appropriate music for a car that looks like a mouse? No! Does it add anything to this comedy bit? No it doesn't. Is it crazy expense to play on the air, not to mention the rights to re-air this clip on the Internet? Hell, yes! Total price tag for this comedy bit: $1.5 million. Sorry, NBC!"
