Vili Fualaau Files For Separation From Mary Kay Letourneau

Vili Fualaau has filed for separation from Mary Kay Letourneau, according to King County Superior Court records.

Fualaau, who married his former teacher in May 2005, filed the docs on May 9.

The controversial couple made headlines in the late 1990s when Letourneau was arrested for statutory rape after having an affair with her then-sixth grade student. Fualaau was only 12-years-old at the time.

Letourneau, who had a husband and children during the illicit relationship, then spent more than seven years in prison for the charges but the Seattle pair still married after she was released.

Vili is now 33-year-old and Mary Kay 55. They have two children together.
